ABOUT MS. ALLISON (JENNINGS):
I have a B.A. in Spanish & Sociology/Anthropology from Emory & Henry College (the best little college on earth!) where I graduated in 1992. I studied at the University of Madrid in Spain for a summer, did an internship in Juvenile Probation, then taught Spanish for nineteen years (one at Thomas Walker & eighteen at MSHS). During my tenure in the classroom, I added a library media certification from UVA-Wise to my teaching credentials. I served eleven years as the librarian in the MSHS library/learning center. I retired in May of 2023 after 30 years of teaching. Then life threw a curve ball... 😉
I was minding my own business enjoying the retirement life when the opportunity to teach again fell in my lap. Pat Flynn said, "Be open to and welcoming of unseen events because those unplanned moments are often the seeds of spectacular opportunities in your life." To my surprise, I found myself looking forward to this endeavor, which tells me I'm not finished yet. I have more to give & I am honored to do so with the students of George Wythe High School. The students & I are going to hit this curve ball out of the park! email address: [email protected]. .
